please find our response to the May 9, 2022 Board of Education meeting at which Dr. Freeman and members of the Guilford Board of Education undermined free speech by verbally attacking anyone in Guilford who opposes their "Equity and Social Justice Initiative."

February 24, 2022. Position Statement on Curricula Audit.
We are deeply concerned that the broad and vague recommendations put forth in the recently released "Report On School Culture and Pedagogy in Guilford Public Schools," (originally billed as a "Curricula Equity Audit" of grades 5-12 for Social Studies and English Language Arts and featuring a numerical equity scorecard for the curricula used by every teacher to see how well their pedagogy complied with "Culturally Responsive Teaching"), will be exploited by the School Superintendent and the Board of Education, to both codify, and intensify the push to indoctrinate our entire Guilford School community with your "Equity and Social Justice Initiative," which is, in effect, CRT.
To this end we have issued the
attached position statement
to insist that whatever policy changes, teacher contract changes, teacher evaluation changes, curricula equity changes, etc. are adopted as a result of this report, comply with existing State and Town statutes which, among other provisions, require Administrators and Teachers to "Promote in students pursuit of truth, knowledge and wisdom, and provide access to all points of view without deliberate distortion of subject matter" and to not "indoctrinate students with their personal views." To do otherwise is to violate the public trust that education must be provided in a fair and unbiased manner and free of political or ideological agendas.
It is also clear that policy recommendations of this magnitude, assuming they first meet legal requirements, must not be implemented without substantial input from the community. Moreover, recommendations from an outside consultant with minimal knowledge of the issues and political dynamics of the community for which they are being made, carry little substantive weight. They also run the risk, inherent in the work of consultants generally, of simply providing outside cover for the preconceived agenda of the hiring party, in this case, the Superintendent.
Finally, we wish to make it clear that the Board of Education and the Superintendent have no electoral mandate to promote policies, programs or curricula that are manifestly unethical and illegal under State or local law, and the U.S. Constitution.
We are concerned, we are informed, and we are watching.

November 2. Municipal Elections. Some of our members ran for the Guilford Board of Education. While we are dissappointed in the outcome - they all lost - we will continue to work on our mission: To EDUCATE the citizens of Guilford about Critical Race Theory (CRT); to EXPOSE the evil that this theory poses for our children, our community, and our country; and to END the indoctrination of our entire Guilford School Community with this Marxist, Racist, anti-American ideology.
July 12. The Board of Education voted unanimously to extend the contract of School Superintendent, Paul Freeman, because they thought he was doing a good job. We don't agree!
